sumomo mo momo - Take Me

sumomo mo momo

I just got finished watching Sumomomo momo. I loved it. It was funny and touching. Here the story. The series centers around a young girl, a strong martial artist, who wants to marry and bear a child with a boy that she believes to be a strong fighter. Momoko is a strange and hyperactive barefoot (but she starts to wear shoes to school after Kōshi buys her a pair) young girl who is also a martial artist in a special form of martial arts that only members of the twelve Zodiac Masters of Japan can learn. She is associated with the dragon of the Chinese zodiac.

Every episode she tries to seduce this guy. Whom they during the course of the anime began living together. Story is around the life of Kōshi Inuzuka, a normal high school student who is aspiring to become a prosecutor after graduating

Rejected again! Kōshi initially wants nothing to do with Momoko or the martial arts war that he has been thrown right in the middle of. He instead focuses even more on his studies so as to keep his mind off of being targeted for assassination. Gradually, he seems to develop a greater appreciation and caring for Momoko.

Oh yes, every man's nightmare?

All hail kurokami

Thursday, January 22, 2009 |

The manga comic Kurokami (black god in the us) finally gets an new anime. About damn time if ya ask me. Those who don't know the story here's a bit of back story.

kuro kami is about Keita Ibuki is an independent and struggling freelance computer programmer who, with two of his friends, is developing and trying to sell a video game program to big-time video game companies in Tokyo while trying to stay afloat and survive financially with money being given to him by his 21-year old childhood friend Akane Sano. He had a chance meeting on one night with a high Mototsumitama named Kuro while eating alone at a ramen stand. He gives her his dinner, a bowl of ramen, and tries to protect her when she is attacked in an ambush by an unknown Tera Guardian. Keita loses his entire left arm during the fight between the Tera Guardians, but Kuro was able to save his life by exchanging the amputated arm with her own left arm since she has enhanced healing abilities like all Mototsumitamas. This creates a contract between them, which makes her more powerful than before. However, Kuro warns Keita that they need to be together all the time in order to be at their strongest.

As Kuro stays with Keita and gets acquainted with him while meeting with other Tera Guardians and their human masters, they are targeted by the strongest Tera Guardian clan of the East, the Shishigami (Lion God) Clan in an attempt to kidnap Akane and bring about the destruction of the coexistence balance, which Tera Guardians are supposed to protect. Meanwhile, Keita is determined to find out why his mother had died after seeing her double as a young boy and find out who is responsible for trying to destroying the coexistence balance on Earth.

Tales of the Abyss

Wednesday, October 22, 2008 |

Now if your a fan of The tales games. You'll be happy to know that there has been an anime adaption to the ps2 hit "Tales of the Abyss" (my personal favorite in the series). The anime so far has four episodes. The opening is an lyrical opening to the original opening. I recommend you take it out soon. Now those who do not know of this game...BAD BAD person!

Here a small overview of the plot.

Tales of the Abyss takes place on Auldrant, a planet composed of elementary particles called Fonons (フォニム Fonimu?, Fonim in the Japanese version). For much of Auldrant's history, only six fonons were known to exist, representing the elements of Shadow, Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Light; but eventually a seventh fonon, controlling Sound, is discovered. Its discovery brings great chaos: using this newest Seventh Fonon allows one to read the future. One such Seventh Fonist, Yulia Jue, puts in place a future for the world for thousands of years to come, with the promise of unlimited prosperity at its end. This prophecy of the future's set path becomes known as the "Score" and is documented on "Fonstones" scattered throughout the world. The nations of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear and Malkuth have fought over the fragments of these tablets for generations, each uncovering them and hoping to discover the future before the other. Meanwhile, a holy order emerges dedicated to the reading of the Score and the keeping of the peace. This "Order of Lorelei" is headed by a Fon Master and maintains both religious/political and military branches. Finally, the Score and its promise of prosperity lead to a dangerous complacency within the general population of Auldrant; the slaughter of an entire people living on the island of Hod and the destruction of that landmass are countenanced because it was predicted in the Score.

As the game commences, Luke fon Fabre, the son of Duke Fabre of the Kimlasca Kingdom, is 17 years old. He is the Light of the Sacred Flame who is destined to bring prosperity to Kimlasca. Since being kidnapped seven years ago by the Malkuth Empire, he has been kept confined to the Fabre family mansion. The shock of the kidnapping has erased all of Luke's memories prior to the event. One fateful day, a mysterious woman breaks into the mansion and sets off a chain of events that drag Luke into the center of a massive conflict between those who would do anything to see the Score carried out, and those who would see it broken forever.

Now go watch it ok. Now.

Rosario + Vampire Capu2

Monday, October 6, 2008 |

I have been waiting for this cheezy little anime series to come back on. Season II is here. Its borderline hentai for most.

zwischenablage07vc5.jpg

Season II is here

Two Japanese television stations have censored scenes with undergarments in the first episode of the Rosario + Vampire Capu2 anime series this week, while at least two other stations have apparently left the episode intact.

The TV Osaka and TV Aichi stations in central Japan censored the scenes, but not another central Japanese station, Mie TV, and Tokyo MX TV.

TV Osaka and TV Aichi had also censored scenes in the first Rosario + Vampire anime series. Both anime series adapt Akihisa Ikeda's school comedy manga about a human boy who secretly attends a school for supernatural creatures.

Fushigi Yûgi Review Interesting

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 |

Fushigi Yûgi Hilarious -

Miyaka is a more or less average junior high school student, trying to do well enough on the entrance exams to join her top-of-the-class best friend Yui at a prestigious school. But when the two of them wander into a restricted part of the library and stumble upon an ancient book called "The Universe of the Four Gods," everything changes. You see, this book is actually a portal into ancient China, and it's story--the story of the Priestess of Suzaku and her quest to gather a group of seven holy warriors and bring peace to the land--is about to be written by none other than Miyaka. Thrust into another reality and faced with a series of challenges and the affections of more than one of the seven warriors she's trying to gather, Miyaka will have to find the strength to live up to her new role. And worst of all, Yui's trip into the story won't be as kind as Miyaka's...

Quick Overview:

Fushigi Yuugi takes an entirely generic girls' anime storyline and gives it a bit of a schizophrenic twist, swinging violently between silly comedy and various degrees of tragedy almost constantly. On the whole, despite being unevenly put together, emotionally confusing, a little too soap-operatic, and rather obviously laid out, there is enough humor to make it enjoyable, enough dramatic twists and relatively believable emotional wrangling to make it interesting, a fair amount of reserve showed on the romantic end of the story, and strong enough characters (and performances) to hold it all together. The visuals aren't much, and the ancient China of the series looks like a stock fantasy locale, but neither is a huge issue.

It's a decidedly uneven series that's definitely most likely to appeal to younger teen girls (its target audience), but it offers enough interesting situations and occasionally involving storytelling to make it stand out in the genre as at least reasonably interesting to a broader audience

Inuysaha is a very cool anime. I just started to watch it in English. Yeah the dub is cool. I am able to follow the story better.

Kikyo Kikyo is the shrine maiden who bound Inuyasha with a magic arrow 50 years ago. She had the power to purify the Jewel of Four Souls. She sacrifices her own life to keep the Jewel from returning to the realm of the living. However, the Jewel is revived by demon magic.

Take a look at this nice shot of her doing what she does best.... My heart.. oh stop Kikyooooooooooooo

Just look at her go.

Hakaba Kitarou Review

Wednesday, March 26, 2008 |

The original Hakaba Kitarou (later renamed to Gegege no Kitarou) was one of the original pioneers in anime and manga, even before the legacy of Osamu Tezuka. Ever since it was serialized in 1959, it’s spawned five lengthy television-series, eight movies and one live-action movie. The problem is that all of these reduced the Kitarou-franchise to a kiddie-series. Enter Hakaba Kitarou, in its Noitamina time-slot as it attempts to remove all of the “kiddie”-roots from the franchise. And believe it or not, but it succeeds pretty well.

The result is a very rare combination between horror and comedy. But this series mostly stands out because it’s so refreshingly different from usual anime. The art really tries to go its own way, with character-designs in an original style, and a continuous filter, reminiscent of Mononoke. There are lots of interesting camera-angles and monster-designs, which make sure that this series turns into a visual feast that doesn’t rely on moe whatsoever.

This is also one series that completely shatters the boundaries between good and evil. It may seem like that Kitarou is the main character, and therefore the good guy, and yet he likes to play cat-and-mouse games with his victims, and he doesn’t even seem to care whether these victims end up dead or not. Nezumi Otoko, on the other hand, may be the series’ villain (he acts mostly out of greed and for money), and yet he stands so far away from the stereotypical anime villain. This guy is often rational and he doesn’t try to look as cool or evil as possible. He’s also often friendly, although he’s ready to betray any friend in favour of his well-being.

The same goes for all other side-characters that appear in one the different stories that have been put into the eleven episodes that this series consists of. Everyone is somewhere in the grey spectrum between good and evil. And all of the major side-characters have multiple sides and hardly have any chance to get boring. I’d also like to mention the ease at which this series seems to be able to kill off its characters. Seriously, some deaths really come from nowhere.

And that brings me to another good point of this series. Not every episode may have one, but the plot-twists will leave you guessing, and some will come as a huge shock, exactly what a horror-series should be. You can see that the writers have a lot of fun while writing this series, and building it up. Hakaba Kitarou has a delightful air of unpredictability that you hardly ever see in anime.

Overall, if you’re looking for something different, then Hakaba Kitarou is the way to go. Don’t get fooled into thinking that this is a series for kids. Simplistic character-designs don’t automatically make a series a kiddie-one. At eleven episodes, there’s hardly any chance to get bored. This is one reason why I like winter-seasons. Because not many popular series air, it’s the perfect chance for the less popular and under-looked anime that try to be different to get a chance. 2007 had Master of Epic, and 2008 continues this tradition with Hakaba Kitarou

Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl

Thursday, January 17, 2008 |

Every teenager, in some respect, has to deal with meddling parents. But Yawara is a special case. Her grandfather Jigoro, whom she lives with, has been training her since childhood to be the guiding star of women's judo. A former judo prodigy, he works her relentlessly, planning for the day when his young protégé will make her spectacular debut on the judo stage. His goal is the Olympic Gold in women's judo (even though the category doesn't yet exist) and eventually the coveted National Merit Award. And he'll do anything to achieve it, be it sneaking into her room to purge it of girly, non-judo distractions, creating a rival, intimidating potential suitors, or scheming to force her into judo matches. Yawara, like any good teenager, is rebelling; all she wants is to be a normal girl. She skips practice, wears makeup (the horror!), practices cooking, and most of all, goes looking for love. But being normal isn't easy when it seems the cosmos themselves are plotting against you. Her manufactured rival, one of Japan's richest socialites, won't leave her alone, a nosy reporter becomes obsessed with her potential after witnessing her takedown of a purse snatcher, and even the guy she's attracted to turns out to be a judo coach. It seems Yawara is destined to be a judo girl whether she likes it or not.

Elfen Lied - Kick Ass Series

Sunday, January 13, 2008 |

This is the tale of the Diclonius race, which consists of mutated homo sapiens who are a threat to mankind because of their dangerous telekinetic powers. (They have a knack for dismembering and blowing up the brains of people who get in their way). Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, is on the loose but has befriended some Japanese teenagers. She still retains part of her killer instincts but also has a human love interest. The plot line to this grisly but popular anime series, also adapted into an online computer video game and a DVD series, follows the path of a conflicted Lucy.
